SNS is huge these days. i have never been an active member of facebook, signed up for it a long while ago and only signed in about once a month. the chinese SNS sensation KAIXIN which was launched in early 2008 did create buzz and i was an very early active user before i quitted two months ago. i am not a gregarious guy in real life, and virtually either. KAIXIN is such a facebook-imitation, they imitate everything from facebook. SNS i use relatively frequently is beijing-based douban which is also a database for movie, book and music. 1.2 million registered users comprise mostly post-80's so-called “artistic youth"and "literary youth"who can rate, review movies, books, and music, socialize with fellow douban users. i am not a typical doubaner since i am a post-70's, it does not matter, what matters is i founded chrissie hynde fan group, cowboy junkies fan group there, joined dozens of groups and getting to know a large number of doubaners.
